What is a Christian Nation

   1. What is a Christian Nation?

A Christian nation in my opinion is composed of people who believe in the teachings of C. Since not all

people in a nation believe in the teachings of Christ we must look at the majority of the nation's people.

If the majority of the people in a certain nation believe in the teaching of Christ and practice those teachings

in their everyday lives than we can consider that nation Christian. A true Christian nation also recognizes

the teachings of Christ in their Constitution and their laws. A true Christian Nation also believes in democracy

     2. Is the Philippines a Christian Nation?

I don't believe that the Philippines is a Christian nation. Yes a lot of us go to church, yes a lot of us pray

but that it not enough. A lot of Filipinos go to church but when they go out they don't practice its teachings.

We see a lot of Filipinos praying when they need something or when they are in crisis but we only see a few

praying just to thank the lord for all the blessings he has given us. Whether rich or poor, politician or civilian

majority of Filipinos believe in Christ but the only problem is we don't practice his teachings. We can easily see

how Filipinos refuse to practice the teachings of Christ. Whenever we drive to work we are disorganized and

each of us refuse to give way to other cars or even pedestrians. Whenever we watch TV we see a lot of

immoral and unethical programs. Whenever we watch the news all we see is killings, rape, theft, etc..... Our

government the one who is supposed to guide us to the right path is corrupt and the people running it are

only thinking of themselves. Even our catholic church is tainted by sins and immoral behaviors. I guess if I

were to think of 1 word to describe Filipinos the word I would choose is "selfish." I think that majority of

Filipinos only think of themselves and this goes against the teachings of Christ. Majority of Filipinos are now

incapable of sacrificing themselves for the good of the nation and their countrymen. This trait is present in

rich and poor Filipinos. There are only a handful of Filipinos who are truely Christian and I believe that their

numbers are decreasing because of poverty and hardships bought upon by corruption in the government all

of which is the effect of selfishness.
